Head Qtrs 1st Brig Camp Holy Va Quite Cold & Raw today Mad a Cople of Stools in the forenoon & in the after Noon. Went with the Col Gen Harris L F Celland (?) Lt Joel (/) & Co. to Dutch Gap Took a general View of the Gap its Siroundings ? a way Saw Little Rebles &c. Returned just Dark.

Brig Head Qtrs Camp Holy Va Clere with quite a coole breeze a stire had nothing particular On hand. Took my Great Coat up 123 OVI to a Tailer & had Some Pockets put in. Papered Our House in afternoon. &c. Received a Letter from my Deare Old Father who is fast On the decline. I feer I shall never See him a gene. But Man has One to Die
