Travelling home on furlough, I. N. 'took the cars' (caught a train) at Washington D.C. on the morning of March 14, 1865 and arrived at Grafton that afternoon. After spending the night at Grafton, he arrived at Parkersburg about 1 PM on March 15, took the 'connection boat' to Marietta, spent the night at Harmar and then continued on the Cincinnati & Marietta RR to Athens. On the return trip, he left Parkersburg on xxx and arrived in Washington on xxx. The route was the main line of the Baltimore and Ohio (B&O) Railroad.
